“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalm 119:105
A note from our Pastor:
Most Americans recognize the importance of the Bible. Morality, knowledge about God and wisdom for how to live all reside in it. It has had a profound effect on history, American literature, government and national values. Though all these things are true, most people in America have not read even half of the Bible. At Christian Life, we believe the Bible is a message from God. A message from a good friend or a famous person would not remain unread, and yet the Bible does. The number one reason people give for not reading the Bible is that they do not prioritize it. We invite you and all the attendees of our church to read the Bible through annually. It takes about 15 minutes a day.
As you embark on this journey, there are a number of resources to help you. We recommend using a Bible reading plan to help keep you on track. There are a number of different types of plans. In 2020, we, at Christian Life, are joining together in reading through the Discipleship Journal Bible Reading Plan put out by the Navigators. Additionally, we promote using Bible App™.
It has a Bible you can download and read on your computer, phone or tablet. It has reading plans, videos such as dramatizations of the Gospels and other helps to understand the Bible.
It is my hope, with these tools in hand, in one year you will have read through the Bible and be on your way to Bible understanding and spiritual growth.
